Oh snap! Karen O's 'Where The Wild Things Are' Soundtrack

imeem (that’s right, lower-case i) is now streaming the complete Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack, featuring original songs by Karen O (of the f’n brilliant Yeah Yeah Yeahs, here credited with “the Kids”). Crusty orchestral nerd enthusiasts might shriek in horror when sampling this completely enchanting, melodic guitar rock (not a single wind chime). Infectious stuff, and already one of my favorite soundtracks of the year. Intrada, this is a goddamned knockout!
Carter Burwell handles the score proper. Burwell has detailed the behind-the-scenes process of scoring the film on his website. One track from Carter’s score is included on the soundtrack CD, “Fur”.
